With this this limited run of twenty sculptures, Meyer sought to capture exactly what made Biggie such a unique voice and distinctive stylist.
“I wanted to pay homage to Biggie by getting to essence of his personality,” says Meyer. “He was an extremely raw MC but had a super-smooth delivery. That’s why I decided to do a sculpture using only raw wood and no paint. The object has a super-smooth finish that makes it somehow luxurious.”
The body, head and cap are not glued to allow motion and change the attitude and posture of B.I.G. Each sculpture has been hand crafted trough numerous steps in the course of a few days. Even the limited run highlights a powerful aspect of the artist’s legacy.
“Like Biggie’s songs, each of the sculptures has a unique flavor due to the ever-changing wood grain and tone of the walnut and pine wood used.”
