JONATHAN CHAPLINE

Jonathan Chapline’s work explores 3d space painting where reality, our imagination and 3d rendering program collide. Applying acrylic with brush to carefully taped of volumes, his scenes are built up almost arithmetically. His paintings draw from the aesthetics of early computer generated imagery and computer-appropriated images, employing techniques such as the use of color gradients to represent spatial relationships between forms. Jonathan Chapline (b.1987 Savannah, Georgia lives and works in Brooklyn, NY) received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. He has been included in group exhibitions at CANADA, New York (2017) The Hole, New York (2018) BravinLee, New York (2017) Nevven Gallery, Gothenburg (2018).
