Susumu Kamijo (b. 1975, Nagano, Japan) received a BFA from the University of Oregon in 2000, and an MFA from the University of Washington in 2002. Most recently, his work has been the subject of solo and two-person presentations at Stems Gallery, Brussels (forthcoming 2022); Harper’s, New York and East Hampton (2021 and 2018); GNYP Gallery, Berlin (2021 and 2019); Maki Gallery, Tokyo (2021 and 2018); Jack Hanley, New York (2020); Marvin Gardens, Ridgewood, NY (2020 and 2016); and Kantor Gallery, Beverly Hills (2020). Poodles, a catalog of Kamijo’s pencil and oil pastel drawings, was published by Marvin Gardens and Pacific Publishing in 2017. Kamijo currently lives in Brooklyn with a toy poodle and a wire fox terrier that visibly inform his work.
